Light is both the catalyst and the unifying force in my recent work—not merely illuminating forms, but existing as an abstraction in its own right. My goal is to balance representation with the inherent abstraction of the picture plane, allowing light, color, and structure to both transcend and reveal physical form. This duality creates a tension between presence and absence, inviting a slower, more contemplative engagement.
I have intentionally chosen to keep the scale of these works small, which requires an intimate viewing distance, enhancing the sense of discovery. This approach draws the viewer into a quiet, focused exchange where the convergence of the everyday and the ephemeral unfolds through stillness and light.
