In association with the Michigan State University Department of Art, Art History, and Design’s Visiting Artist & Scholar Lecture Series, (SCENE) Metrospace is excited to announce it’s newest exhibition Untitled Body Drawings and Paintings by Dana Saulnier. The paintings and drawings explore permeable boundaries between figure and ground. The artist states: “I am compelled by immediate perceptual responses wanting to engage the central nervous system of the viewer and speak to their body before speaking to a set of categories. I seek an image where perception and category are in tension and both modes are fragile.” Saulnier is Professor of Painting at Miami University in Oxford, Ohio.
