2026 National Juried Exhibition
Curated by Scott Noel
June 25–July 18, 2026

Reception: Thursday, June 25, 6–8pm
FIRST STREET GALLERY is pleased to present its 2026 National Juried Exhibition. Located in the Chelsea Art District in NYC, the exhibition will run from June 25 to July 18, 2026. A reception will be held on Thursday, June 25th, from 6 to 8 pm.
Curated by Scott Noel, celebrated Philadelphia-based painter, curator, and long-time professor of painting and drawing at the Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts, the exhibition presents works by thirty-seven contemporary artists from all regions of the country. Represented among the works in the show are paintings and graphics, mixed media, photography, and sculptural pieces in plaster, ceramic stoneware, wood, and a wide variety of other materials. The artists engage with figurative, abstracted or wholly abstract, and narrative imagery. Significant storytelling is a theme that runs through the show. Among the works in the collection are imaginative, whimsical, and fantastical creations, arresting closely-observed portraits and self-portraits, familiar suburban settings and lush landscape, emotionally-fraught and celebratory figure gatherings, and still life and interior compositions viewed from intriguing, unusual vantage points.
