Nicole Santiago is a representational artist best known for her narrative figure paintings. While the human form remains central to her practice, she also explores still life, interior, and landscape themes, weaving visual storytelling into each genre.
She earned her BFA from Indiana University and her MFA from the University of New Hampshire. Over the course of her career, Santiago has exhibited in more than 150 group and solo exhibitions. Her work has been published in numerous art publications, including The Artist’s Magazine, Art New England, International Painting Annual (INPA), and Fine Art Connoisseur.
Santiago has received full fellowships from the Vermont Studio Center and the Ballinglen Arts Foundation in Ballycastle, Ireland. Most recently, she was named a finalist for the Bennett Prize, one of the most prestigious painting awards for women working in the realist figurative tradition.
Santiago currently resides in Williamsburg, VA, where she is a Professor of Art at the College of William & Mary.
