Nicole M. Santiago – Biography

Nicole M. Santiago holds a BFA in Studio Art from Indiana University and an MFA in Painting from the University of New Hampshire. She is currently an Associate Professor of Art at the College of William and Mary, where she has taught figure drawing, color theory, and composition for the past 13 years.

Throughout her career, Santiago has maintained an active exhibition record, showing in over 100 group and solo exhibitions over the last 15 years. Her works have been printed in many visual art publications including: The Artist’s Magazine, Art New England, and the International Painting Annual 1 (INPA-1).

In her works, Santiago paints/draws semi-autobiographical, domestic scenes that loosely suggest her internal and familial narratives. The resulting images are isolated and quiet, with simple yet layered storylines.
